Point your domain at ZTD Office
Your domain’s email records decide where your mail is delivered. Your control panel shows exactly what to set, and checks it for you.
You change these records wherever your domain’s DNS is managed: usually the company you bought the domain from (for example 123-reg, GoDaddy, IONOS, Namecheap) or Cloudflare. Your website isn’t affected; only the email records change.
Before you start
- Copy your old email first (Move your email). Your old service keeps working until the records change.
- Make sure every address you use has a mailbox, group or alias in the control panel, so nothing bounces after the switch.
- Have the sign-in for your domain’s DNS to hand.
1. Find the records in your control panel
Sign in at admin.ztdoffice.com and open Domain, then your domain. Each record shows its type, name and value, with a copy button, and whether it’s set up yet.
2. Add or change them at your DNS provider
- MX: point your domain’s mail at the server the control panel shows, and remove your old MX records. Mail can’t go to two places.
- SPF (a TXT record starting
v=spf1): replace your old one. A domain must have only one SPF record. - DKIM (TXT records with
_domainkeyin the name): add each one exactly as shown. They’re long; use the copy button. - DMARC (a TXT record named
_dmarc): add it, or replace the one you have. - Add any other records listed for your domain, such as the ones for sending mail.
Many DNS providers add your domain to the name for you. If the panel shows _dmarc.yourbusiness.co.uk, you may only need to type _dmarc. After saving, the provider usually shows the full name, which should match the panel.
3. Check it worked
Changes usually take effect within an hour, sometimes up to a day. The control panel checks your records every hour, and you can press Check now on the domain’s page. When every record shows as set up, send yourself a test email from another account (a personal Gmail or your phone) and reply to it.
Then go back to your old mailbox once more and copy anything that arrived during the switch (step 4 of Move your email).
