Taking your email with you
Your email is yours. If you move to another provider, you can copy everything out with the same free tools you’d use to move in.
Do this before your ZTD Office service ends. After it ends we keep your mailboxes for 30 days, then delete them permanently (see our Terms).
Add your ZTD Office mailbox and your new account to an email app such as Thunderbird, then copy each folder across, exactly as in Move your email but the other way round. Your ZTD Office settings:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Username | Your full email address, like sarah@yourbusiness.co.uk |
| Password | Your mailbox password (or an app password, see below) |
| Incoming mail (IMAP) | mx1.ztdoffice.com, port 993, SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing mail (SMTP) | mx1.ztdoffice.com, port 587, STARTTLS, sign in with the same username and password |
| Calendar (CalDAV) and contacts (CardDAV) | Server mx1.ztdoffice.com, same username and password |
Two-factor sign-in on your mailbox? Email apps can’t ask for the code, so they need an app password instead of your normal one. Create one in webmail under Settings → Security and use it in the app.
Contacts
In webmail at mail.ztdoffice.com, open Settings → Contacts → Export Contacts. You get a vCard (.vcf) file that almost every provider can import.
Calendars
Add your ZTD Office calendar to Thunderbird: New Calendar → On the Network, with your email address and the server mx1.ztdoffice.com. Once it has loaded, use Events and Tasks → Export to save it as an .ics file, and import that file at your new provider.
Your domain
Your domain stays yours. When your new provider is ready, change its email records to the values they give you, the same way as in Point your domain.
