Connect your email apps

ZTD Office uses the standard IMAP and SMTP settings, so it works in the email app you already have. Here’s what to enter.

You can always read your email in a browser at mail.ztdoffice.com. To use an app on your computer or phone, add your mailbox as an IMAP account with these settings:

Email app settings
SettingValue
UsernameYour full email address, like sarah@yourbusiness.co.uk
PasswordYour mailbox password (or an app password, see below)
Incoming mail (IMAP)mx1.ztdoffice.com, port 993, SSL/TLS
Outgoing mail (SMTP)mx1.ztdoffice.com, port 587, STARTTLS, sign in with the same username and password
Calendar (CalDAV) and contacts (CardDAV)Server mx1.ztdoffice.com, same username and password

Two-factor sign-in on your mailbox? Email apps can’t ask for the code, so they need an app password instead of your normal one. Create one in webmail under Settings → Security and use it in the app.

Outlook

  1. Classic Outlook: File → Add Account. New Outlook: Settings → Accounts → Add account.
  2. Enter your email address. If Outlook asks for the account type, choose IMAP and use Advanced options to enter the settings above.

Apple Mail on a Mac

  1. Open Mail → Add Account, choose Other Mail Account, and enter your name, email address and password.
  2. If Mail can’t find the settings, choose IMAP and enter mx1.ztdoffice.com for both incoming and outgoing mail.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Mail → Mail Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Mail Account (on older versions, Settings → Mail → Accounts).
  2. Enter your name, email address and password, choose IMAP, and enter mx1.ztdoffice.com as the host name for incoming and outgoing mail, with your full email address as the user name.
  3. For your calendar and contacts, add Other → Add CalDAV Account and Add CardDAV Account with the server mx1.ztdoffice.com and the same details.

Android

  1. In the Gmail app, open Settings → Add account → Other (other email apps have a similar option).
  2. Enter your email address, choose Personal (IMAP), enter your password, then mx1.ztdoffice.com for the incoming and outgoing servers.
  3. For calendar and contacts, a CalDAV/CardDAV app such as DAVx⁵ connects with the server mx1.ztdoffice.com and the same details.

Thunderbird

Add the account with your name, email address and password; Thunderbird usually finds the settings itself. If not, choose Configure manually and use the table above. Thunderbird can also add your calendar and address book over CalDAV and CardDAV.

If it doesn’t connect

  • Check you can sign in to webmail with the same address and password.
  • Use your full email address as the username.
  • If you use two-factor sign-in, use an app password (see above).
  • Check the ports and security settings exactly match the table.
